Nintendo AllStarThat would be my brother and I playing Nintendo when I was roughly age 1. However, if you look closely you will see that my cord is not plugged in. Obviously it shouldn't have been because I was only one and probably slobbering on it more than anything. When I first came across this picture it finally hit me. I had always been SO good at Mario but when my brother Cory got me my first Nintendo (which I still have) and I played by myself...I sucked! The truth came out that all those times I thought I had been playing Mario and kicking Bowsers who know what, I had actually been playing with a controller not plugged into the game. However, finding this picture never took away from the time my brother and I would spend together and help form the special bond that we have. As a side note, Cory is ten years older than me, so this picture does show him as an awesome pre-teen boy helping with his adorable little baby sister. Love ya bro!

Watermelon & FamilyOne of my favorite memories as a kid is when we use to have our annual family picnic at the "Farm" a.k.a. where I lived. All week long we would prepare things as family would come from near and far to gather for the event. Grandma's house was bustling, my dad was grilling and there was almost always a game of baseball in the field, followed by a walk down the creek and then watermelon for dessert.
As we have all grown older, lost and gained limbs onto the family tree we still continue to have this picnic every summer, although the location has changed. It truly just reminds me how important family is and keeps me thankful for such a large one. This picture is me when I was four or five years old at the family picnic eating my watermelon...and to this day I do not know why I have dirt all over my face!!!! LOL! |
